What's the secret to great tasting pizza?

I think everyone can agree with one thing : that pizza simply is not pizza without a crust ; without the dough.

Sure, having a good sauce and quality cheeses and toppings is very important, along with baking methods etc, but the absolute MOST important thing is the dough that you make pizza from! Further so I think the better question would be : 

How do you make GOOD pizza dough? How do you make pizza dough tasty and have that perfect texture only pizzerias seem to be able to make? 

The answer to this question is probably , and ironically, one of the most multi faceted and complicated questions in the world of food. One thing is for absolute certain is that the fermentation process might be one of the more important elements, maybe even more so than the ingredients you choose to use. Seriously.
